The National Mobile Service Provider, Sri Lanka Telecom Mobitel has embarked on yet another first, this time, teaming up with Huawei to offer a contract plan along with the Huawei Ascend Y220 smartphone.
The contract will require Mobitel customers to sign up for an 18 month period. This contract comes along with a special Mobitel post-paid package. This package includes the following absolutely free on a monthly basis: 2GB data, 100 M2M minutes, and 500 M2M SMSs. An initial refundable deposit of Rs. 10,000/- must be made upfront at the time of signing the contract. At the end of the contract period, customers will be eligible to receive a brand new smartphone free [for the value of Rs.10,000/-].
The Huawei Ascend Y220 smartphone is a dual SIM phone which has a 3.5 inch touchscreen and a rear camera of 0.3 MP. The Huawei Y220 also has a high memory capacity of RAM: 256MB, ROM: 512MB, Micro SD (up to 32G) and is available in black.
The authorized agent for Huawei is Singer (Sri Lanka) PLC and the Huawei Ascend Y220 along with the contract plan will be available to customers at all Singer outlets including SISIL World, Singer Mega and Singer Plus as well as at Mobitel branches and outlets islandwide.
Huawei and Mobitel have maintained strong ties since 2006, and have worked jointly on many projects to increase Mobitel’s network’s coverage, capacity and speed.
