Short Message Peer to Peer (SMPP)

 
Short Message Peer to Peer (SMPP) is an open, industry-standard protocol for sending text messages (SMS). This solution is provided by Mobitel for clients (such as Banks, Educational institutes, etc.) to communicate with their customers simply by an SMS.
 
It is used primarily to connect third-party services with SMS centers, enabling various types of automated SMS services. It is also used to link SMS center gateways, enabling inter-carrier messaging
