1. Who is eligible for the Upahara package

This special package is eligible for the following:

  1. Government sector employees (Including Tri Forces, Police & Civil Defense Forces),
  2. Clergy (All religions),
  3. Pensioners of Government service.

 

2. What documents are required to obtain the Upahara package?
  1. National Identity Card or Valid Driving License or Valid Passport And,
  2. Document as proof of the billing address, if it differs from the address mentioned in the National Identity Card. Acceptable documents, in either hard copy or, electronic format, must not exceed 3 months from the current date,
    1. Electricity Bill or,
    2. Water Bill or,
    3. Bank Statement with Address And,
  3. Document to prove your eligibility to enroll for the connection
    1. If you are a Government Sector Employee

To prove active government service, please provide one of the following documents as proof

  1. Service Identity Card or,
  2. Appointment Letter or,
  3. Service letter or,
  4. Salary Slip Issued in a Recent Month Certified by the Head of the Department/Government Institute or,
  5. A Letter from the Head of the Department/Government Institute with the Names and National Identity Card Numbers of Employees who are eligible to get the connection
  6. If you are a member of a Clergy (Any religion)

A document or identity card serving as proof of eligibility as a member of clergy.

  1. If you are a Pensioner of Government Service
    1. Pensions Identity Card or,
    2. A Pension Payment Slip Issued in a Recent Month or,
    3. Letter Received from the Pensions Department to prove eligibility

 

3. How many connections am I allowed to obtain with the Upahara package?

You can have 2 connections from the Upahara 499 option and 2 connections from the Upahara 727 option under your NIC. These can be either package upgrades or new connections.

 

4. I am a existing Upahara Postpaid user. Can I upgrade my current Upahara package to the New Upahara 499 or 727 package?

You can upgrade your package to the New Upahara 499 or 727, in this instance the applicable connection fee will not apply for the upgrade.

 

5. I am not on Upahara package right now, am I eligible to upgrade my current package to the Upahara 499 or 727 package?

Yes, you can upgrade your package to Upahara 499 or 727. In this instance the respective connection fee will apply.

 

6. I am a Prepaid user, am I able to upgrade my current package to the Upahara 499 or 727 package with the Same Number?

Yes, you can upgrade the same number to the Upahara 499 or 727 Postpaid package. In this instance the respective connection fee will apply.

 

7. If I buy Upahara 499 package now, will I be able to change my package to Upahara 727 package later?

Yes. You can upgrade your Upahara 499 package to the Upahara 727 package. In this instance a connection fee of Rs. 250 will be charged for the upgrade

 

8. If I buy Upahara 727 package now, will I be able to change my package to Upahara 499 package later?

Yes. You can downgrade from the Upahara 727 package to the Upahara 499 package.

 

9. What are the methods can I get my Upahara Bill?

  2. Register on the MY ACCOUNT self - care portal on www.mobitel.lk
  3. Dial 1456 from your SLT Mobitel phone to listen to your billing details in your preferred language,
  4. Dial #1456# from you SLT Mobitel phone to get an instant bill update to your phone,
  5. Type ‘USAGE’ & send to 4567
  6. Give a Missed Call to 0701755777
  7. Through SLT Mobitel Virtual Assistant on WhatsApp 0710755777
