What is Bus Reservations about?
 
It is a service which allows you to reserve bus tickets to many popular destinations around the island
 
What are the buses available?
 
You can choose from Luxury/Semi Luxury and normal busses
 
How do I use the service?
 
Simply dial 365 from your Mobitel phone. Select your language preference and then select the option 4 for Bus Reservation. A Mobitel customer care representative will reserve your ticket based on your travelling requirement
 
How much do I get charged for the service?
 
Every ticket will be added a convenience fee of Rs. 100/- in addition to the ticket price 
 
Do I need to obtain a physical ticket?
 
Show the SMS confirmation you received when the booking the ticket to the conductor. He will then handover you a physical ticket 
 
What if I erase/lose the SMS?
 
Please call 365 and request the Mobitel customer care representative to resend the SMS
 
Can I get on to the bus halfway through the route?
 
Yes you can. Please tell the Mobitel customer care representative about it and he/she will be able to tell you which bus is travelling from closest Town and make the reservation accordingly
 
What if I can’t get on board on time?
 
Mobitel will be passing the traveling details of our customer to the respective bus. They may contact you if you not there on time. However, we urge you to be at the starting/pick up point in time to avoid any inconveniences

Train Ticket Reservation:

Reserve intercity train tickets anytime, anywhere! Simply call Mobitel Ticketing service short code 365 from any Postpaid and Prepaid Mobitel connection to reserve Kandy Colombo intercity, Vavniya Intercity, Vavniya Night mail, Yaldevi, Badulla Nightmail, Udarata Menike, and Podi Manike.

Mobitel Train Ticketing Process:

  • Dial 365 to access the Mobitel Ticketing service.

  • State your name, national ID number, destination information and number of tickets.

  • You will receive a reference number.

  • Reservation details will be confirmed via SMS.

  • Collect your ticket at any Mobitel branch, Fort Railway station special counter or from Colombo, Gampaha, Peradeniya, Kandy Railway stations.

Ticket Collection Procedure:

Mobitel customers can get their ticket printed from any Mobitel branch or any existing location currently in operation for ticket printing.

Features:

24 hour access, No queuing,No travelling.

Short code charges, ticket charges and reservation charges will be charged for every successful booking. These fees will be added to your bill.

Call Charges

Rs. 8 per min + taxes.

Movie Ticket Reservation:

Watching movies is now more enjoyable and easy. Reserve your movie tickets on your mobile phone within the comfort of your home through Mobitel Ticketing service.

  • State your name, national ID number, movie information and number of tickets.

  • You will then receive a reference number.

  • You can collect your ticket at the cinema theater.

Features:

24-hour access, No queuing, No traveling.

Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions formulate a binding contract between the Customer/Passenger and Mobitel and Express 418 (Private) Limited (hereinafter referred to as Service Partner). By using Mobitel and its Service Partner’s Services, the Customer/Passenger agree to be bound by the terms and conditions stated herein. In case the Customer/Passenger does not agree to the terms and conditions, Mobitel and the Service Partner are not in a position to provide the Customer/Passenger the Services. These Terms & Conditions are subject to change at any time without a prior notice. To ensure that Customer/Passenger is aware of any changes, Customers/Passengers are requested to review these Terms & Conditions periodically.

Nature of the Business
Mobitel and its Service Partner’s Service is a value addition for public transport seat reservation. Mobitel or its Service Partner do not operate bus services of its own. In order to provide a comprehensive choice of bus operators, Mobitel’s Service Partner has entered into agreements with several bus operators. Mobitel and its Service Partner strictly advice the Customers/Passengers to select bus operators who offer a reliable and comfortable public transport service.
Customer/Passenger’s responsibility;
  • The Customer/Passenger should be present at the bus station, 15 minutes before the Estimated Time of Departure (ETD) of the reserved bus service.
  • The Customer/Passenger is required to furnish the Ticket (eTicket/mTicket) or the reservation confirmation SMS to the Bus Conductor along with the National Identity Card issued by the Department for Registrations of Persons, Driver's License issued by the Department of Motor Traffic or the Passport issued by respective authority to verify the identity of the Customer/Passenger.
  • The Customer/Passenger agree to produce one of the personal identification documents mentioned in above article 2.2 for inspection by bus operator's designated staff or relevant authorities to verify the identity in the event of a security concern at any given time throughout the Customer/Passenger's engagement with the Services offered by the Mobitel and its Service Partner and bus operators.
  • Tickets reserved via Mobitel are not transferable. It is Customer/Passenger's sole responsibility to provide accurate contact information and persons identification details of all intended Passengers for each seat reserved. Customer/Passengers agree that inaccurate Customer/Passenger details may lead in prohibiting the embarkation.
  • Customer/Passenger agrees to provide accurate information at the time of ticket reservation. Customer/Passenger shall be solely responsible for consequence arising out of any miscommunications, any misleading or false information provided by the Customer/Passenger.
  • Customer/Passenger shall be solely responsible for the selection of the bus operator, Bus and the Schedule.
  • Customer/Passenger agrees that any change required by the Customer/Passenger that affects to the selected seat number, schedule or date is considered as a cancellation and request for such changes will be dealt according to the cancellation and refund policy stipulated herein
  • Customer/Passenger agrees to get onboard from the bus station (hereinafter referred as boarding point) selected at the time of reservation. In the event the Customer/Passenger is not able to get on board at such boarding point, the Customer/Passenger acknowledges that Mobitel and its Service Partner or the bus operator shall not guarantee the availability of a vacant seat after the bus passing from such boarding point.
  • Customer/Passenger shall contact the bus operator to find out the exact boarding point in the event that the Customer/Passenger is not aware of the exact boarding point.
Mobitel and its Service Partner’s responsibilities include:
  • Issuing a valid Ticket (a ticket that will be accepted by the bus operator) for the network of bus operators.
  • Providing Customer/Passenger support and information over the telephone service in case of any delays/inconvenience.
  • Notify Customers in case a bus for which a reservation has been made by the Customer is not available due to a breakdown or for any other reason. Mobitel and its Service Partner rely on information provided by bus operators, thus Mobitel or its Service Partner shall not guarantee the ability to provide information on a timely manner.
  • Coordinate with Customer and bus operators in the event of a bus cancellation to provide an alternative reservation. However, such reservation shall be strictly restricted to available options only.
Mobitel and its Service Partner’s responsibilities do not include:
  • Timely departure/arrival of the bus selected by the Customer/Passenger.
  • The bus operator’s staff not being cooperative and/or disciplined or their conduct whatsoever.
  • The bus seats, condition inside the bus etc. not being up to the Customer/Passenger’s expectation.
  • The bus operator canceling the trip due to unavoidable reasons.
  • The baggage of the Customer/Passenger getting lost, stolen, damaged or not being able to load to the bus.
  • The bus operator changing a Customer’s/Passenger’s seat at the last minute to accommodate a separate passenger.
  • The Customer/Passenger waiting at the wrong boarding point.
  • The bus operator changing the boarding point and/or using a pick-up vehicle at the boarding point to take Customer/Passenger to the bus departure point.
  • Any inconvenience caused by the act of other passengers regardless their source of ticket reservation.
  • Mobitel and its Service Partner do not guarantee that the schedule selected by the Customer/Passenger supports by any means whatsoever to achieve the purpose of travel or to reach the destination on desired time.
  • Mobitel and its Service Partner are not liable for any damage or inconvenience arising out of any miscommunication, delays of the Customer/Passenger or any misleading and or false information provided by the Customer/Passenger.
  • Mobitel and its Service Partner reserve the right to change the schedule and/or cancel, terminate, postpone, divert, reschedule or delay any bus/coach, any time without a prior notice to Customer/Passenger. Mobitel and its Service Partner will exercise such right due to safety or reasonably considered and justified circumstances beyond the control of Mobitel and its Service Partner. Notwithstanding the circumstances Mobitel and its Service Partner shall not be liable for any damages or inconvenience caused to the Customer/Passenger.
  • Mobitel and its Service Partner is not liable for any delays before and/or during the journey and for the road accidents at any point of time during the Customer’s/Passenger's engagement with the Services offered by Mobitel and its Service Partner and bus operator
  • Mobitel and its Service Partner shall not be liable to the Customer/Passenger or to any other accompanying person for any direct, indirect, incidental, punitive or consequential loss, damage, cost or expense of any kind whatsoever and howsoever caused to Customer/Passenger or to any other accompanying person resulting from Customer/Passenger’s engagement with services provided by Mobitel and its Service Partner.
Cancellation and Refund Policy
  • Mobitel and its Service Partner reserve the right to cancel the reservation due to the Schedule cancellation by the bus operator. In the event of such schedule cancellations by the bus operator, Mobitel shall refund the full amount charged from the Customer. Refund shall be made by crediting the amount in Customer’s Mobitel subscription account through which the reservation was made.
  • Mobitel and its Service Partner are not liable to refund any amount due to Customer/Passenger not showing up for travel or not being able to get onboard under any circumstances.
  • Customer’s requests for cancellations are treated under following circumstances.

  • Reservations made for buses operated by Sri Lanka Transport Board are not cancellable by the Customer under any circumstance, hence Customers are not entitled to a refund in any case a Customer/Passenger chose not to travel.
  • Reservations made for buses operated under the regulations of Sri Lanka Transport Commission, in other words the buses of private bus operators are cancellable. Customer requested cancellations shall be accepted by Mobitel only for the requests made by the Customer via short code 365, 24 hours prior to the Estimated Time of Departure (ETD) of the bus from its place of commencing the journey.
  • Customer must take the call to 365 using his/her Mobitel mobile number that is registered with the reservation in order to accept the cancellation request.
  • Cancellation charges may be applicable for the Customer requested cancellations. Mobitel and its Service Partner reserve the right to decide the applicable charge and the amounts shall be notified to the customer at the time of a Cancellation request.
  • Costs incurred in communication shall not be refunded under any circumstances.
Communication Policy
  • By accepting the terms and conditions the Customer/Passenger accepts that Mobitel and its Service Partner may send the alerts to the mobile phone numbers provided by the Customer while registering for the service. Mobitel and its Service Partner on their discretion may communicate only with the Customer who make the reservation using his/her Mobitel mobile number and Customer is solely responsible for communicating important messages to other Passengers who may travel under the reservation of the Customer. The Customer/Passenger acknowledges that the alerts will be received only if the mobile phone is on active mode and technically acceptable condition to receive the SMS in a timely manner.
  • Mobitel and its Service Partner shall make best efforts to provide the service and it shall be deemed that the Customer/Passenger has received the information sent from Mobitel as an alert on the mobile phone number provided during the course of Ticket reservation. Mobitel and its Service Partner shall not be under any obligation to confirm the authenticity of the person(s) receiving the alert. The Customer/Passenger shall not have the right to hold Mobitel and its Service Partner liable for non-availability of the service in any manner whatsoever.
  • The Customer/Passenger acknowledges that the SMS service provided by Mobitel and its Service Partner is an additional facility provided for the Customer/Passenger’s convenience and that it may be susceptible to error, omission and/ or inaccuracy. In the event the Customer/Passenger observes any error in the information provided in the alert, Mobitel shall be immediately informed about the same by the Customer and Mobitel and its Service Partner shall make best possible efforts to rectify the error as early as possible. The Customer/Passenger shall not hold Mobitel and its Service Partner liable for any loss, damages, claim, expense including legal cost that may be incurred/ suffered by the Customer/Passenger on account of the errors, omissions and/ or inaccuracies of the SMS facility.
  • The Customer/Passenger acknowledges that the clarity, readability, accuracy, and promptness of providing the service depend on many factors including telecommunication infrastructure. Mobitel and its Service Partner shall not be responsible for any non-delivery, delayed delivery or distortion of the alert in any way whatsoever.
  • The Customer/Passenger agrees to indemnify and hold Mobitel and its Service Partner harmless from any damages, claims, demands, proceedings, loss, cost, charges and expenses whatsoever including legal charges and attorney fees which Mobitel or its Service Partner may at any time incur, sustain, suffer or be put to as a consequence of or arising out of;
  • Misuse, improper or fraudulent information provided by the Customer/Passenger.
  • The Customer/Passenger providing incorrect number or providing a number that belongs to that of an unrelated third party, and/or
  • The Customer /Passenger receiving from a third party, any false message relating to the reservation number, travel itinerary information, reservation confirmation, modification to a Ticket, cancellation of Ticket, change in bus schedule, delay, and/or rescheduling.
  • Customer/Passenger acknowledges and agrees that Mobitel and its Service Partner may call the mobile phone number provided by the Customer/Passenger while registering for the service or to any such number replaced and informed by the Customer/Passenger, for the purpose of collecting feedback from the Customer/Passenger regarding their travel, the bus facilities and/or services of the bus operator.
  • Customer/Passenger acknowledges and agree that Mobitel and its Service Partner shall share Customer’s and Passenger’s mobile numbers with third party bus operators for operational needs related to the Service and that they may call the Customer/Passenger inline with Service provision.
  • Grievances and claims related to the bus journey should be reported to Mobitel via short code 365 support team within 3 days of the travel and any grievances or claims notified later than 3 days will not be inquired into by Mobitel and its Service Partner.
