1. What is Mobitel 5G?+

Mobitel 5G is the next generation of mobile network technology after 4G. It provides much faster internet speeds compared to 4G and improved performance

2. What kind of experience should customers have with 5G?+
  • Faster browsing
  • Smooth streaming and Faster Downloads
  • Better gaming responsiveness.
3. What do I need to use 5G?+

To connect to 5G, you need:

  • A 5G Phone: Ensure your smartphone supports 5G.
  • 5G Coverage: You must be in a 5G-covered area (major cities and towns).
  • The Right SIM: Any 4G-supported SIM or eSIM will work. (Old 3G-only SIMs will not work).
  • An Eligible Plan: You must be on one of our 5G-ready packages.
4. Do I need a new SIM card to experience 5G?+
  • Physical SIM: No, as long as your current SIM is 4G-supported.
  • eSIM: All Mobitel eSIMs are automatically 5G-ready.
5. How do I enable 5G on my phone?+

Go to your phone settings and follow these steps-

Brand Steps to Enable 5G
Apple (iPhone) Settings → Mobile Data → Mobile Data Options → Voice & Data → Select 5G On or 5G Auto.
Samsung Settings → Connections → Mobile Networks → Network Mode → Select 5G/LTE/3G/2G (Auto).
Huawei Settings → Mobile Network → Mobile Data → Preferred Network Type → Choose 5G/4G/3G/2G Auto.
Xiaomi Settings → SIM Cards & Mobile Networks → Select your SIM → Preferred Network Type → Choose 5G Preferred.
Vivo Settings → Mobile Network → SIM 1 / SIM 2 → Preferred Network Type → Select 5G/4G/3G/2G (Auto).
6. What happens to customers who are already using these packages?+
  • Prepaid Customers: To enjoy 5G, simply activate any of the eligible prepaid plans prepaid link.
  • Postpaid Customers: If you are already subscribed to an eligible postpaid plan or add-on, 5G will be automatically available as part of your plan
7. What will Happen if I run out of Data?+
  • Prepaid: Once your bundle of your 5G supported package is over, your device will no longer connect to the 5G network until a new eligible plan is activated.
  • Postpaid (Add-ons): 5G will deactivate once the one-time bundle is fully conusmed.
  • Postpaid (Base Plans): 5G service will remain active despite the bundle availability as long you remain in the active package.
8. What factors may prevent a customer from experiencing 5G connectivity even while being in a 5G-covered area?+

Common Reasons

  • Phone doesn’t support 5G – Phone OS is not up to date.
  • 5G is turned off in device settings
  • Not on a pack which is mentioned Above.
  • Sim cards do not Support
  • Indoors where 5G is weak
  • Device Requires toggle flight mode for 5G to connect
